People think that a soul mate is the perfect fit and that is what everyone is asking for. For me, the true soul mate is like a mirror. It is just like the person who shows you everything that is holding you back, the person who brings you to your own attention which can change your life.

Soul mates come into our life just to help us reveal the other side or another layer of our self and then they will leave us to stand alone by our self. Their purpose is just to shake us up, tear apart the ego in our self, show the obstacles and addictions in this real life, break our heart so that the new light and spirit will go into our heart. At the same time, they also will make us feel so desperate and out of control that we need to transform, improve and develop our self. But, the best part is, the true soul mate will introduce us to the spiritual master, the creator, the Almighty.
It's not gonna be easy. It's going to be really hard; we're gonna have to work at this everyday. But as long as they are with you, all is well.
